The Bio-way Evenings are Back

It is a multi-cultural journey through history, traditions, recipes and arts to rediscover grassroots tastes and the contaminations that influence our food traditions. The Bio-way Campaign was developed in Sezze (Lazio) in 2001. The campaign aims to raise awareness on issues related to the cultural value of culinary traditions and agricultural methods that respect our health, the environment and the equality of exchanges amongst producers and consumers, both in Italy and worldwide.

From July to September, this campaign will propose various food-related evenings to the citizens of Rome. This year, events include the ingredients and tastes of “bandit history”. The next appointment (July 24, 2008) is with “Furono detti briganti” (“They were called Brigands”).

The campaign is promoted by the Cesv and Spes Service Centres for Volunteers, a Network including nearly 30 associations.

In 2006, the Bio-way Campaign was selected to participate in the Special Projects category for the good practices in the schools of Rome and participated in the Thematic Weeks at the Città Educativa, presenting a CD-Rom created by the students of the S. Santi School of Rome.

The Bio-way Cd-Rom also participated in the International Global Junior Challenge competition.

The Bio-way Project, designed by the Santi School, has been inserted in the On-line Learning Environment of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in the Alimentation knowledge area.
