Amongst the project participating in the 8th edition of the Global Junior Challenge [1], there also is an integrated theatre lab, which even includes new technology.

Project NUM - Nonunomatanti [2] developed by IIS Federico Caffè [3], and coordinated by Professor Isabella Cognatti, integrates the school’s educational programme with theatre and other cultural activities. The project includes all students, including students with disabilities, foreigners and special needs students. And above all, the students who fight daily with their scholastic career, have social and family issues and often risk dropping out of school.

The integrated theatre lab addresses aspects related to moods and emotions that are fundamental for individual evolution and learning. Moreover, students learn to use graphics and video-making programmes to promote their activities.

In this interview by Fiammetta Castagnini, Italian and History Professor Isabella Cognatti explains how she transformed didactic activities with theatre.
