The Information Computer Technology and counseling, is designed by Victory Child Care Fund-INC to tackle the education challenges affecting girls from less advantaged and marginalized communities in Kenya. To help girls gain skills on dangers of harmful practices and behaviors like, Female genital Mutilation (FGM) early marriages and HIV/AIDS. ICT Counseling will provide extra curriculum in Secondary schools.

Information Computer Technology and Counseling, was designed after realizing that majority of Girls from less advantaged and Marginalized communities, drop out of school at their earliest age, due to lack of school fees, adequate information literacy and or forced marriages by their families for cows or livestock for family upkeep, some communities like Samburu too, practice Female Genital Mutilation that initiate girls into adulthood, at age of 10, many girls feel mature enough to practice adult duties including sexual immoralities leading to Sexual Transmission Diseases/ Infections ( STDs/ STIs). after realizing the risk involved, Victory Child Care Fund - INC, is partnering with local Secondary schools to engage the girls in ICT projects and counseling activities, turning them into future role models in communities where they originate from and help sensitize them.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) has received global attention due to the resulting devastating health problems and fatalities. FGM is widely practiced among the Samburu people. It is a difficult issue to address because it is so deeply rooted in Samburu culture. Circumcision also has serious social ramifications for young Samburu girls and women, which may include: • Being removed from school prematurely; once circumcised, girls as young as ten years are expected to take on adult roles and responsibilities • Suffering psychosocial distress and isolation if their classmates and friends are not circumcised • Early marriage, often to much older men, and childbirth • Risky sexual behavior, since circumcision marks one's entry into adulthood. This exacerbates the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases and can result in early pregnancy and childbirth With these risks and adverse consequences in mind, the ICT-Counseling will be an effort to eradicate female circumcision among girls from Samburu culture. Victory Child Care Fund-INC will scientifically measure the success of the program. It will use student enrollment records, teacher observations and reports on reported cases of early marriages, grade records and school attendance records.

The Samburu culture is deeply rooted and embraced by majority of the community members, dealing with them and making them understand the dangers involved in the harmful cultural practices like female genital mutilation (FGM) is a real challenge and time consuming, but with persistence and commitment, the community is slowly embracing the new ideas and putting our efforts at a remarkable point. We believe that by persisting and hard work, the community in the near future will turn to be the best and safer cultural community in Kenya.

Riassunto del progetto (max. 2000 caratteri): 
Low income communities like Bunyala (Port Victoria) stressed and posed with climate change related stressors, need to develop the capacity to adapt to climate change in order to cope with short-term shocks and long-term trends. ICTs will form an essential part of that development. Our initiatives successfully combine local and external information and knowledge to make a valuCommunications, Early warning systems. 3. ADAPTATION: Environment, health & resource management, up scaling technologies and building resilience.able contribution to deliberate, pre-planned strategies for adaptation, focusing on the informational role of ICTs and combining local and external capacities. Climate change adaptation demand emergent actions that cannot be foreseen in advance, and which require the development of communities more as self organizing systems. The project concentrates on the adoption of new and emergent technologies in three broad and interrelated activities: (1) monitoring of climate change and the environment, (2) disaster management, accounting for preparation, early warning systems (EWS), and response and recovery, and (3) climate change adaptation. Other pertinent activities such as mitigation, resource management, education and capacity building, networking, monitoring and evaluation, and climate modelling are also to be addressed in stages. Specifically Information and communication technologies involve: 1. MONITORING: Observe, Detect & predict, Inform science & decision making. 2. DISASTER MANAGEMENT: Communications, Early warning systems. 3. ADAPTATION: Environment, health & resource management, up scaling technologies and building resilience.

Our objective is to explore the possibility of using ICT for sustainable development of environment by using: PDAs  (Personal Digital Assistants) for food security and climate monitoring to collect data regarding changes in food security and climate situations; to build a Health Information Network by using electronic data upload and download through PDAs and mobile phones to facilitate decision making among health workers located in remote health centres; to use Data-Agro by sending SMS to farmers using low-cost mobiles regarding information on weather forecasts, market prices and cultivation practices; set up an environment Text Centre where the information is processed and responses are sent back via SMS and where Farmers and field volunteers send text to a central Internet-connected server where information is processed and responses are sent back; establish Flood Warning Systems that uses mobile phones to collect data for flood forecasting and forward to central early warning systems, which are then disseminated via traditional warning systems; set up Warning System Technologies, thst uses a wide range of new and emergent ICTs for receiving and disseminating alert messages to the public or central command posts.  With availability of resources we would like to implement the use of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs ) are systems of intelligent sensor nodes deployed to monitor particular environmental cues, such as temperature, light intensity, water levels, local meteorological data and pollutant level. The ICT is used to map the vulnerable areas for environmental conservation and data keeping for action.

We can now use the ICT experiences to for potential ICT development projects to support both deliberate and planned strategies in practice.We have transformed the loop to largely work for communities to particularly become more self-organising as  they had not particularly developed local informational capacities or, at least, not to extent necessary given the demands being placed on them by the increasing intensity and frequency of climate change and related stressors. Communities are now more informed and involved in environment management and development. We recognise that since agriculture, including forestry, livestock and land-use changes, account heavily on global greenhouse gas emissions, the sector needs to be included in climate change management and reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation programmes. Moreover the project acknowledging that agriculture is the main driver of deforestation recognizes the interface between sustainable agriculture and reduced deforestation. “Re-greening landscapes” is a key element of climate efficient agriculture. In Bunyala emissions from land use, land use change and forest deforestation account for high of GHG (global greenhouse gas emissions).

2450 users per month, that would translate to 894250 users per year. Others can learn from our project, that: ICTs play a crucial part in the development of climate change adaptive capacity. They do this in four ways: i) by combining existing data in new ways; ii) by enabling access to new data, information and knowledge; iii) by reducing costs of access to transactions and services; and iv) by their productive role in ICT-based enterprise. Our focus here has been largely on the first two applications, with the more transactional and productive roles that ICTs can play set aside due to lack of evidence, at least in relation to climate change adaptation. The dominant pattern of thinking on climate change adaptation has been top-down, deliberate, planned. This is a vital part of capacity building, but it is only a part. There needs to be equal recognition that many climate change adaptive actions will be emergent unplanned and arising from within individual communities and regions that should be understood as complex adaptive systems. The application of ICTs to climate change adaptation must also be shaped by this equality of recognition.

Provides the GED syllabus to classrooms in Uganda via Skype and CD . Students obtain a certificate to enter jobs or tertiary education and so help them out of poverty. All syllabi are registered with and certificates issued by the accreditation bodies.

Tutor Africa was started in South Africa in 2009 . Started as a home based project,but soon grew to global status with students from all over the world.It was realised that this kind of on -line education could be very beneficial to countries were education was hard to obtain. The churches in Africa have allowed the use of their premises (halls and classrooms), and these were chosen because of the existing infrastructure and the availability of electricity. The GED(General Education Diploma) curriculum is delivered via CD and tutoring is provided via Skype. The idea to reach students this way grew from the strong belief that education was the way to break the cycle of poverty. This method has worked in South Africa for a number of years very successfully and many students have obtained a school leaving certificate this way and have gone on to the job market or tertiary education.This project has been implemented in South Africa for a number of years by Meryll Brownlee and a group of qualified teachers and tutors. The dream is to take this opportunity to the rest of Africa . Uganda has bee chosen because Tutor Africa has already obtained premises and Tutors in this country.

Tutor Africa aims to:* Increase the quality and availability of education to disadvantaged students in Africa.Countries in Africa provide a basic education to Grade 8. Further education is not free and many students are not able to continue and so remain unemployable and poverty stricken. *Improve and undertake computer literacy classes.*Set up multi-purpose training centres that empower communities.*Promote education curriculum that provides a means to poverty alleviation especially amongst women with children and students who have not had the chance of completing school.* to approach issues from the beneficiaries point of view,paying attention to their needs, wishes and aspirations.* Provide means to students in Africa to obtaining a school leaving certificate that is both meaningful and valid. INSTRUMENTS USED. The whole curriculum has been developed on a CD (compact disc). Tutoring and live lessons are delivered by Skype and Youtube.There are a dedicated group of people who are tutoring students through the CD curriculum. When there is no electricity the students and their supervisors int he classroom can continue lessons with printed lessons.The curriculum is registered with both the South African and the American accreditation authorities, so final school-leaving certificates are issued by these authorities and are valid for further education. Interactive work is automatically recorded on the hard drive of the computer.Assignments are recorded in Students files and contribute to a percentage of the final mark.The final exam s are moderated by the accreditation board and school-leaving certificates are issued by them.

The first and third term assignments are marked by Tutor Africa's qualified teachers, to aid corrective measures in the learning environment. Model answers (protected by passwords) are provided to facilitate this. June exams are marked and then moderated by the GED board are used to implement corrective measures after model answers are provided. A portfolio of work for each student is kept from Grade8-12. This is a very useful tool in maintaining a steady pace of work throughout the year.The Oct/Nov exam which is marked by the GED board.

There is capacity for 200 hundred students at the Uganda site. Interaction is within the classroom with student facilitators who are qualified. The students interact live with tutors in real time via Skype daily for each CD lesson. Videos of lessons are available on YouTube for revision. All lessons are also in printed form in case of electricity failure. There is a large waiting list in Uganda for this type of education ,(400 students).

Tutor Africa does not believe in giving fish to people but in teaching people to fish by providing them with the necessary tools. Students and others can learn that where there is a passion for providing education a way to deliver it can be found. This project has been developed over many years of dedicated work . This was done because I had a vision to provide valuable education to students who have no way of obtaining any meaningful education so that they break out of poverty , not only for themselves but for their families as well . I have been involved with Aids orphans and single mothers who simply cannot afford education. These people can not break out of poverty without education and help to get it.

Barriers to this project is mainly financial as the beneficiaries are students trapped in the African poverty cycle. Solutions are being sought through corporate and Angel funders as well as individual funders. The barrier of curriculum delivery has been overcome by developing a syllabus on CD with live real time teaching over Skype. The unreliability of electricity supply has been addressed by also providing the syllabus in print for so Student Facilitators on site can continue with classes until electricity supply is restored. This has also been addressed by using church sites and community centres where electricity supply is already established and generators are available for prolonged outages. Each barrier has been seen as a challenge to be overcome for the betterment of these students and a lot of passion and years of hard work has gone into preparing the methods of delivery.

Tutor Africa plans to expand to other countries in Africa by opening Tutoring Centres and providing computers in as many countries as possible. Our wish is to get enough funding to start in Uganda and then move on to other countries once this model has proved successful there. Another wish is to translate the CD and print curriculum into other languages(Italian,French as well as African languages) to facilitate this curriculum reaching as many students as possible. We wish to provide students with computers in the Centres. We plan to make these Centres available to other organizations as a teaching and educational venue-eg. Aids organisations,Medical and first aid organisations as well as providing night classes. We plan to make these centres valuable centres for the community to be used for empowerment and economic growth.

"My safe street" is multimedia application of traffic safety, whose main goal is fast, fun and easy assimilation of the rules for safe behavior on the street.
Riassunto del progetto (max. 2000 caratteri): 
The idea to create a multimedia toolkit on the subject studied in Bulgaria - Traffic road safety arose one day when I was looking for materials on that subject. I found very little information and no interactive materials that would be useful, but the most interesting and motivating for me were the articles in one teacher's forum. They discuss how primary school teachers are difficult to find interesting materials for their students. It was the day when I decided to create this project. I developed the idea with licensed copies of provided programs Adobe Flash and CorelDRAW from the school where I study. To create a graphical environment I used CorelDRAW. Adobe Flash was used to build the application, to animate graphics, effects, management of items through ActionScript. I worked on the project several months and I participated in several national competitions and tournaments in Bulgaria. In the National Olympiad for Information Technology in "Multimedia Applications" category, "My safe street" won first place and become the best multimedia product at this year's Olympiad. For now the project is developing locally in Targovishte, Bulgaria. Dimova Ltd. is implementing the project today in a private center for children "Happy kids house". I want to develop my project nationally, and why not globally. :)

I think the timely training in road safety is of utmost importance for younger students. Also of particular importance are the ways and methods by which children are taught. Experience shows that interactivity in education help for more permanent knowledge and higher success rate among students. So I decided to create an attractive application according to this subject, which at the same time is a source of much knowledge, logical activity and visual definition. The main goal is through interactive games and activities to rise the interest among the students and to develop skills for safe behavior in traffic. "My safe street" is a multimedia toolkit for traffic safety, whose main function is to be useful in the learning process. I realized the project in the following steps: 1) Search for information and resource materials; 2) Introduction to the problems, needs and existing solutions on the topic; 3) Make an implementation plan; 4) Construction of an application's structure; 5) Distribution and arrangement of the materials; 6) Select appropriate software for the individual elements; 7) Interface design; 8) Construction of the designed components; 9) Create own design; 10) Processing of text and graphics; 11) Select appropriate effects and animations; 12) Assembling and testing the application; 13) Troubleshooting; 14) Presenting the project to students;
Risultati
Ad oggi, quali sono i risultati raggiunti dal vostro progetto e quali sono i criteri per valutarli? (max. 2000 caratteri): 
After presenting the application to young students, the main result is that the multimedia toolkit provoke great interest to the students. It succeeded in winning and training them while they have fun. I think that learning by using the ICT in education is really good idea. Computers and information technologies are the fastest growing today. In order to make teaching more interesting I think we must use them. Although the application is developed for students in fourth's grade, those from the smaller classes do not stop themselve at the challenges that it provides. This made me thoughtful that children would choose to play with toolkit like this, although it is for fourth's grade. However, the things are not like that with the educational materials at schools.

The product can be used both in class and for self-occupation at home. Currently the product is available as a desktop application, but could be published as a web application in future. At this moment the users who are interacted monthly is up to 50. In the future, if implementation plans become true and the product will be integrated with school curriculum in Bulgaria, the number of the users who are interacted monthly would have risen dramatically, which is the main goal.

Students can learn about safe behavior in the road traffic, which is of great importance. As a multimedia toolkit - "My safe street" helps teachers. They can give to students exercises (games) for the subject TRS. The nature of the toolkit is not examinational so no estimates and statistics, but only moral rewards. It is made so that the student can learn from their mistakes by having the opportunity to correct them.

The main difficulties in the realization of the objectives was animating a character who introduces the user to the multimedia toolkit through the intro. In programming with ActionScript 2.0 I faced with many unexpected problems with whose solution I learned much better programming. Problems encountered in translating the project because the texts in the Bulgarian version are with rhymes.

I have many ideas that have to accomplish to improve the application. I want to create more games that put students in real situations. One possibility is to create video material, which would include questions and exercises. My other idea is to create a game in which the student will drive a vehicle along a street regulated by signs and / or traffic lights. After improving the design and develop new additions, my app could be added in one package with teaching aids agreed upon by the Ministry of Education and Science - Bulgaria. This will be a good realization, because it will be widely available and many children will be able to use it. I am in contact with publishing houses in Bulgaria who would like to include the product to their textbooks and I hope it happens.

The Pss. Educational development society has initiated the transfer of technology for rural people project (TOT) in 2009. So for five states across the country were covered with a view to giving further impetus , it is proposed to implement the project on "mission mode" . For this purpose a "Tot National Awareness Campaign " is planned to be conducted during August 2011 - dec 2012 with an object to be benefit minimum one stakeholeders of rural people and triblas. PSSEDS is a platform for demonstration of technology models with a variety of static, simulated and live models in stalls.

The project aims to enhance the students' motivation by making Mathematics a learner-friendly subject, to help them develop their creative, social, language and ICT skills
Riassunto del progetto (max. 2000 caratteri): 
“Maths in Wonderl@nd” is an eTwinning project developed by two groups of 13-15 years old students from Italy and Romania. The working language is English. We have planned the project mainly during the Global Junior Challenge finals in Rome, where teachers and some of the Italian students were present. We want to show that Maths can be more than a class in the timetable, it can be a world of imagination and creativity, populated by interesting and peculiar things, just like Lewis Carroll's book "Alice in Wonderland" is. Its starting point are the mathematical allusions in the book, but the activities go beyond that, by searching for other unusual Mathematical notions, that can even be recognized in our every-day environment, using the mathematical notions we get in class. Another project aim is to promote team work, collaboration and mutual understanding, as some of the main values of young European citizens.   The @ in the project title means that this Wonderland is also a world of ICT, of new  teaching and learning tools. We used an on-line magazine (http://magazinefactory.edu.fi/magazines/mathsinwonderland/?str=40), a blog (http://mathsinwonderland.blogspot.com/), a loudblog that can be found at http://irina.sorinvasilescu.ro/loudblog/, videos, Google Maps, animations, Voki, podcasts and other web 2.0 tools. The methodological approaches were web-based learning, games, peer and informal education, collaborative learning. We expect the students: 1.  to change their approach to Maths and their idea of the link between science and society, 2.  to develop their  ability to abstract thinking 3. to help them to be more active citizens, aware of their choices 4.  to apply Maths knowledge into everyday life, thanks to the practices of maths games solving and links made with art, architecture and humanistic studies 5. to improve mutual understanding by studying our partners' cultural and historical background 6. to develop tolerance and cooperation  7. to experience a creative, cooperative and pleasant dimension of learning 8. to develop multiple intelligences and critical spirit 9. to reinforce ICT skills 10. to implement the use of the English language and the acquisition of scientific vocabulary

Pupils produced a magazine, a blog, a loudblog, videos (published in the magazine). The project has had the following awards: Italian and European eTwinning Quality Label; Stella Quality Certificate; Stockholm Challenge Award finalist "“2011; Top 50 eLearning Award 2010; European eTwinning Award 2011- Maths and Science category

The two teams involved in the project consist of a total of about 40 people. Students and teachers communicate through the magazine, the blog and the TwinSpace. The project sites are accessible by anyone in the web, so we do not know how many people have visited them. The project was presented to the public in many conferences and workshops and has been included in the planning of the school.

The project can be continued and adapted for other subjects. Its materials can be used during the following years in Maths, as auxiliary for different subjects or as a base for school curriculum. Some of them can be a way of reinforcing the revisions for the National Math exams and making these revisions more agreeable for the students. All the materials are visible to anybody due to being published in the magazine, blog and loudblog. The project is most suitable to be used in CLIL classes.

In nowadays society where science and information known a spectacular development and use of new web 2.0 and social media applications is no longer regarded as an avant-garde movement our students should be able to handle in the creative use of computer and online free tools hwo represents a necessity in XXI Century Education . Interactive presentations like glogster edu and digital school lessons make a centered student who live in a learning envirolment and virtual education has become a phenomenon in education in last years. In the era of Internet and development of new technologies although my students and other students who have problems are children with special educational needs, at risk of school droppout XXI Century Skills can help them integrate into society .These technologies can stimulate discussion, open gateway to knowledge, promoting creativity and innovation for effective lifelong learning . Teacher and also students should have an entitlement to safe internet access at all times. Pulling Piaget and Papert , the use of participatory media tools in education is typically geared towards, creating a more student centered, adaptive environnement where learners can contribute to the course material, formulate and express their own insights and opinion, construct their own understanding of material by connecting concepts, to personal experience or current events, and learn from one another in collaborative environments . In the same time students are happy to learn how to integrate in a safe mode new digital technologies in their classroom ,and this may prevent early school dropout . Although there are students with special needs , if they develop digital skills easier to integrate into the labor market today as most employers require computer literacy skills when hiring. Unfortunatelly the time is too short because we have only 1 hour / week to use all wonderful tools and apps who appear daily in the online word . In fact, the eSafety4etwinners provides a safe Web 2.0 learning environment while making learning fun. In line with this pan-European project, he has developed an optional course the computer my friend to teach pupils how to use web 2.0 tools safely.

Riassunto del progetto (max. 2000 caratteri): 
The overall importance of upgrading vocational skills in India is highlighted by the following statement of the task force on employment opportunities: "To summarise, the rate of growth of economy cannot be accelerated, in particular in the labour intensive sectors, if there is a general lack of skills among the work force. The example of software industry is sufficient to illustrate what can be done by our youth if the right training facilities are afforded by the society. This requires strengthening of the existing training system. The role of public sector has to be restructured and conditions created for inflow of funds at a much larger scale than at present. Role of private sector has to be expanded sharply if the requisite resources are to be brought in to bridge the large capacity gaps that exist. The vocational training policy has to respond to this challenge." Computers have made our lives simple and very convenient by offering our needs at a click of a mouse through online shopping thereby saving a significant amount of our time to go to the local market and buy them. Thus if you wish enjoy the benefits of this incomparable system and wish to have a better hold in today's modern technology then you need to have at least basic computer knowledge. Nowadays there many computer coaching classes that are being conducted at your local college which offer computer education to all irrespective of your age. If you are shy and do not wish to go to the classes you can even opt for an online training program which could help you to have an overview of the whole system. This way you can develop a good understanding of how the system works. If you are not used to such online trainings you could probably ask your friend to help you in applying for an online computer education. Think over once again as it's your future and this is the right time to act on it.

FUNENGLISH METHOD AROSE AS A RESPONSE TO THE NEEDS OF CONTEMPORARY CHILDREN THAT IS THEIR COMMON USE OF COMPUTER AND THE INTERNET AS WELL AS THE LACK OF UP-TO-DATE MATERIALS. FUNENGLISH COURSE IS BASED ON FOUR MULTIMEDIA PILLARS OF EDUCATION, WHICH ARE THE MOST ATTRACTIVE FOR A CHILD: l'hip— EDUCATIONAL GAMES, l'hip— EDUCATIONAL FILMS, l'hip— THE KARAOKE SONGS, l'hip— PHOTOLESSONS. POLISH PEOPLE STILL HAVE MENTAL BARRIERS CONNECTED WITH LEARNING WITH THE USE OF COMPUTER. THEY PREFER TRADITIONAL METHODS RATHER THAN MODERN ONES. WHAT IS MORE, VERY OFTEN SCHOOLS ARE ILL-EQUIPPED. IN MANY OF THEM, THERE AREN'T ANY NEW COMPUTERS, THE BANDWIDTH IS VERY LIMITED AND THERE ARE NO OTHER FACILITIES LIKE INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS OR MULTIMEDIA PROJECTORS. HENCE, USING FUNENGLISH MAY BE DIFFICULT. WE ARE TRYING TO BREAK MENTAL BARRIERS AND CONVINCE THE TEACHERS. AS I MENTIONED ABOVE, THE MAJOR BARRIER TO THE IMPLEMENTATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF OUR PRODUCT IS THE MENTAL BARRIER, THAT IS THE FEAR OF USING A COMPUTER FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE ILL-EQUIPPED SCHOOLS ARE ALSO A CHALLENGE. WE ARE MEETING WITH THE HEADMASTERS AND THE TEACHERS AND TRYING TO CONVINCE THEM TO INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS. WE CAN PROVIDE THE SCHOOLS WITH THE FACILITIES THEY NEED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE LESSONS AND MAKE THEM MORE INTERESTING. WE NOTICED THAT THE EDUCATION IN POLAND IS FOSSILISED AND THE SCHOOLS OFTEN DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO BUY MORE MODERN EQUIPMENT.

THE PLATFORM IS CREATED IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT ALLOWS THE INTRODUCTION OF OTHER TEACHING METHODS, SUBJECTS OR LANGUAGES. HOWEVER, IF WE WILL EXPAND AND HOW WE WILL EXPAND, DEPENDS ON THE USERS' DEMAND. WE RECEIVE VARIOUS COMMENTS FROM OUR USERS ON THE EXPANSION POSSIBILITIES, WHAT IS USEFUL AND WHY. ONLY AFTER FINALISING PROJECT, AFTER ANALISING ITS RESULTS AND AFTER EVALUATING, WE WILL BE ABLE TO DEFINE THE POSSIBLE EXPANSION IN ORDER TO SATISFY OUR USERS. IF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS SUPPORT US IN THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR, WE WILL BE EAGER TO COOPERATE WITH MORE THAN 150 SCHOOLS. IF THAT HAPPENS, WE WILL NEED EVALUATION FROM THE TEACHERS, THE PARENTS AND THE CHILDREN. WE ALSO REQUIRE THE PARENTS' AND THE TEACHERS' TRUST IN FUNENGLISH.PL AND IN ITS POTENTIAL TO BE THE RIGHT SOLUTION FOR CONTEMPORARY CHILDREN.

To provide opportunity for young people to acquire ICT literacy and necessary technical skills for job opportunity.
Riassunto del progetto (max. 2000 caratteri): 
The project puts emphasis on using information and communication technologies in the context of global youth priorities, such as access to education, employment and poverty eradication. In addition, the cost of ICT access (mobile phones and Internet) is much higher as a proportion of per capita income in these particularly disadvantaged countries. We want s to bringing together all relevant stakeholders, including governments, civil society and the private sector, and encouraging them to work together to provide an environment that fosters the development of young people and enables them to realize their potential in the Information Society. The ICT centre will act as a resource centre for community mobilization, training and empowering young people to engage in community economic development by venturing them into employment. Disadvantaged and marginalized youth, such as migrant and refugee youth, youth with HIV and AIDS, indigenous youth, youth with disabilities, rural youth, youth experiencing poverty, and those facing discrimination, are often excluded from access to ICTs. The effective allocation of resources so as to ensure equal opportunities and access to ICTs for youth living in vulnerable situations is critical to ensuring that ICTs are used and developed in an inclusive and equitable manner.

Quali sono gli obiettivi specifici del progetto e quali sono i mezzi usati per raggiungerli?: 
We must address unequal opportunities for ICT use within groups. Important factors in this respect include an individual’s socio-economic position, level of education and place of residence. We want youth participation in democracy and the possibilities that may develop after the digital revolution. Opportunities for children and youth to express their ideas and opinions about different issues in society have traditionally been very limited. We want to participate strengthen policies for the provision of information and communication technologies (ICTs), including access to internet, for education, and including the promotion of ICT training for education that is relevant and of high quality. The project seeks to serve Youth through a number of products and services: Participatory Project Design; youth Led Innovative Program Implementation; seed Grant Projects for Entrepreneurship Development; developing multi-stakeholder partnerships for program design; building local capacity for program implementation; using new technologies for livelihood generation; community Driven Development; initiating Pilot projects; livelihoods based approaches to enterprise development in: Renewable Energy, HIV/AIDS, IT, Rural Development, Water and Sanitation and community volunteer-ship.

Ad oggi, quali sono i risultati raggiunti dal vostro progetto e quali sono i criteri per valutarli? (max. 2000 caratteri): 
In a broad sense, the benefits arise from improvements in education and access to information. At the individual level, ICT has assisted some young people to gain more meaningful jobs, to communicate easily with other youth from all over the world, and thus share their experiences. Some youth are capable of using ICT in diverse and novel ways, as a result of which traditional forms of socialization such as the family and school are increasingly being challenged and overtaken. These technologies offer a culture of information, pleasure and relative autonomy, all of which are particularly appealing to young people. Many young people are simultaneously experiencing life within the global and local spheres. They develop a global consciousness yet still have to function and survive in their own locality and culture. The project evaluation criteria includes study on: the importance of the role of youth entrepreneurship in creating employment opportunities from ICT; the value of public-private partnerships in making the most of the employment potential of ICT for young people; how ICT opportunities can also assist vulnerable groups of young people; ways that ICT can help link the informal sector to opportunities in the world economy.

Youth and ICT play an important role to uplift the living standard of youth themselves and the community they live in. Furthermore, ICT can increase the interest to learn new things, easy mean for job searching and application, easy money transfer and payments for school fees, easy communication and mass media entertainment; ICT helps in the cognitive development aspect of children, students, and all; ICT helps everyone to develop and shape their thinking power; logic sense; ICT increases the self confidence of a person, opening up to diversity and inclusion, helps in skill development. On creating job opportunities: youth use skills to open micro-entrepreneurship like mobile phone money transfer, setting up a community disaster management training- warning - and mobilization center as a mean for social development and resource support. ICT projects are vital to improving rural community livelihoods by: informing and forming on relevant decisions about livelihood strategies, thereby reducing disaster impact (flood, disease, drought warning and mitigation), and increasing income diversification; improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of rural service delivery across areas of health, education, agricultural extension, training and knowledge resources.

<div>Despite the many benefits, Technology in general and ICTs in particular, the project offers to the &nbsp;youth and other &nbsp;citizens, modern ICTs pose several obstacles including the implied costs, keeping up-to-date with ever changing technology and abuse. In our solutions we seek to improve community awareness and participation in the project. Next steps: 1. More feasibility studies 2. Educating Juniors and the community about the project 3. Recruiting more Juniors and training them 4. Secure endorsement of concept by investors, donors and sponsors 5. Pre-development phase fund-raising, donors, investors 6. ICT professional, artists, architecture; engineering team and selection 7. Partnership development with the donors and advisory and ICT constructing companies like CISCO and SAFARICOM to help in project definition, planning and technical support. 8. Development of a strong fund-raising committee and concept refinement.</div>
