The final event of the Global Junior Challenge 2012 will be held in Rome (Italy) from October 17-19, 2012. The programme includes various activities that will be held in different locations:primary school Don Gioacchino ReyCittà Educativa di Roma, new seat of Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the magnificent "Sala della Protomoteca" at the Campidoglio, seat of Roma Capitale. 
 
The Global Junior Challenge (GJC) is the international competition that rewards the innovative use of technology for 21st Century Education and Digital Inclusion. The competition is promoted by Roma Capitale and organized by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic,with the patronage of the Ministry of Foregin Affairsand in collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC), Legambiente and Intel Italia. Over 400 projects have been submitted to the GJC exhibition-event-competition. The 81finalist projects come from 19 countries. The GJC jury is composed by 51 experts in innovation and social inclusion. School and third sector will come together for the Fairof Solidary Creativity: 13cooperation laboratorieson the millennium objectives. Two important debates dedicated to students and teachers, an  international networking session with 13 countries and 18 awards that will be presented at the final Awards Ceremony at the Rome City Hall, the Campidoglio, including the President of the Republic Award to the six most innovative Italian schools. The “Il Mondo in piazza” musical evening will feature a concert by 5 bands and international artists.
