Versione stampabile Invia a un amico The project ”Multimedia mathematical entertainment for young Europeans on holiday.” is about exchanging materials about students themselves, their school, city and country. The main aim of the project was to use Maths in everyday activities, to improve the level of students’ English competence, enhanced students’ media competence and better knowledge of EU countries culture, searching for mathematics in various fields of life and the surrounding world.

The project required pupils from each partner school to collect data about themselves, and other students like themselves.
This project has involved eight schools:

I started my work in this project, after the invitation received from Beata Kowalska (POLAND). I communicated with Beata Kowalska, HLUSCU IONELA, Laima Cepulinskiene via email and Forum and we have changed ideas about our work. Some pupils of my team have registered on student’s forum and they have created new topic or posted commentary. Beata Kowalska has created at Home the folders for this Project.
I saved in my computer (Laptop) and on CD all that have published the partners in this PROJECT and I have presented to my pupils in our meeting (using Video projector); my pupils want learn about other countries (culture, civilization, tradition, educational system…) and exchange information.
In order, I have published my students work (PowerPoint presentations, photos, videos).

Please explain the targets and the background of your project:
My students made presentation (Power Point) about where and who they are, what they like and so on. They sent pictures of something close to them (team photo, school, neighborhood...) and I put the photos and descriptions to the "Photo gallery".
- developing team work skill abilities to cooperate with the another team,
- developing the skill of searching mathematics in natural, cultural, technical contents through creating the task in form of crosswords, rebuses, riddles and different on the basis of received information,
- developing the skill of gathering and sorting information on the given subject,
- developing communication skills in English with partner student group,
- learning about different cultures,
- developing the skill of recognizing similarities and cultural differences,
- arousing the ability to tolerate cultural variety, building the openness,
- introduction to using computer and different technical devices in contacts with the partner school and during classes.
Come, e con quali mezzi cerca di raggiungere gli obiettivi prefissati:
We use PowerPoint / the video, photos, pictures/, publishing the websites, e-mail, Student Debating Forum.
My pupils bring different pictures from house for coloring. We choose it, which be suitable for creation of task.
After installation of password and mathematical contents, they executed farthest work in program Microsoft Word.
They print prepared material so.
They scan it later and I receive ready image for publication.
Imagery scuff sometimes ourselves.
Quali opportunità/problemi affronta:
Benefits for students: The study of mathematical material on the basis of received information in form of crosswords, rebuses, board games, riddles. My students works out mathematical tasks on the strength of information received from others partners school; they work out tasks on the basis of materials received from the partner school. After putting the worked out tasks on the website, the received a set of multimedia mathematical entertainment which will be also available for pupils from partners school.

Benefits for teachers: - improving their abilities to use ICT - learning about the ways of work with students in the educational system of the partner country - exchanging experience and materials with teachers from partner schools
Benefits for schools: - enriching educational offer - enriching traditional methods of cooperation - effective use of multimedia equipment in the Multimedia Classroom - putting into practice a new form of promoting your school.
10. Risultati
Describe the results of your project as per today:
Student productions: - working with the material about yourself, your school, city and country (in English) - logging on and registration on Student Forum, exchanging information with students from partner School - establishing school e-mail box, exchanging e-mail addresses - exchanging prepared materials via the Net, working with the received materials - analyzing the received materials together with other schools, searching for similarities and differences between the countries - creating a website - making mathematical problems on the basis of the received material - putting the mathematical problems on the website - making a set of multimedia entertainment (together with the partner School) - preparing the set of multimedia entertainment on paper for students

The pupils are very motivated and they are interested in this form of authentic work. Therefore, they are even ready to implement tasks for the project during their free time.

We are using technology to dissolve boundaries not only between countries but those that separate our schools form our local communities. Extend learning beyond the limitations of the school day and the walls of the school establishment. Motivation levels are so high that this is now truly a student project; they generate ideas, identify the new skills required and produce the final product.

My students have developing the skill of searching mathematics in natural, cultural, technical contents through creating the task in form of crosswords, rebuses, riddles and different on the basis of received information.
The students who worked on the project didn't miss a single chance to report and present to their teacher and their classmates the information they had available and which concerned various subjects they were taught in class:
MATHEMATIC: my pupils have created some Maths problems with application in Geography, History, Biology, Art, Music, ICT; they have create some crosswords, rebuses, riddles.
GEOGRAPHY: my pupils solve the Maths problems propose by their partners and they discovered some Geographic notions –
European capital cities ; Our Planet in mathematics;
ENGLISH: was practiced in a real and productive situation and the skills of my students at the particular language were considerably improved.
INFORMATICS & COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY: my students got more familiar with the use of the PC, they came to the conclusion that we could easily contact another school far away and they exchanged their emails in order to make new friends
ENVIRONMENTAL SΤUDIES: references were made and pictures were taken of places of exceptional natural beauty.
Descrivete in quale modo il progetto favorisce l'uso delle nuove tecnologie da parte di professionisti, ragazzi e giovani per lo sviluppo culturale e didattico:
My classroom has been most active but bit by bit other students and teacher are getting also interested. The eTwinning activities are a part of our classrooms every wheel school work. We use these tools for different themes.
We decided to continue our collaboration. We hope we can meet in real life too, not only virtually.
The results of this project have both been published on the internet (http://www2.edu.fi/magazinefactory/magazines/tasks/ ). In addition to that, a presentation of the results has been arranged at Local Council of Mioveni Town, Arges, Romania and to the Local Station TV.
Descrivete i criteri che usate per misurate i risultati raggiunti dal vostro progetto:
The study of mathematical material on the basis of received information in form of crosswords, rebuses, board games, riddles. The partner school works out mathematical tasks on the strength of information received from other partners. All students work out tasks on the basis of materials received from the partner school. For the school, it was interesting for the colleagues to watch the progress of the project. At the same time I could convince some of them to try it out themselves in the next term because very often the workload of teachers makes them meet these projects with disapproval.

Math is a good way to overcome language barriers through its unique language of signs and symbols, which are known all over the world. Thanks to realizing this project there will be multimedia mathematical entertainment made by kids for kids.

Future plans and wish list:
In the future my students want to visit some partners of our projects; they communicate via e-mail or chat, but they considere that this way is not enough to know better their friends.
