Partners carry out a survey on recycling in their city. They put the results into graphs, comment on them and suggest solutions for the future.

Aims: Teachers create groups of three pupils and subdivide the roles of each pupil (a reporter, a photographer and a webmaster). During Weeks 2-4, each group carries out the following tasks: Writing an introductory message (one per group of three) Interviewing a given number of individuals in their town Taking pictures relevant to the topic Compiling the results and putting them into graphs in Excel Uploading the Excel files into the TwinSpace Discussing their partners’ results and writing a conclusion (one per class) Suggesting what could be improved in their towns and in general Writing a summary of the project and uploading all Excel files, suggestions and pictures from interviews on TwinSpace using File Archives and the Photo Gallery. Showing the project results to other people at school as well as in the local community and telling them about the project.
Work process:
Expected results: Pupils work in groups of three. Reporters are mainly responsible for editing texts, photographers for taking pictures and webmasters for dealing with technical issues. First, pupils write an introductory message about their group on the TwinSpace. Each group interviews a certain number of individuals in their town about recycling. They ask questions agreed upon with their partners. Photographers take pictures. The results are entered into an Excel spreadsheet and made into graphs. Excel files are then uploaded into the TwinSpace

What does it try to achieve and how:

We used Etwinning desctop communications gantry tools.

We saw really for three parties accomplished
contacts between each other.

How does it promote the use of ICT for the educational and cultural development by professionals, children and youth: 

Various ICT tools were included in the project in a purposeful way. The project fits in an international curriculum and could work as a model for various themes as well as for different school levels. The model of question- and comment-based project development as a basis for progressive inquiry showed the real pedagogical value of the project.

Describe how you measure (parameters) these results: 

The panel thought that the basis of the project, an international theme, i.e, water, incorporated with an intercultural theme, i.e., fairytales, was innovative and appropriate. The partner choice is particularly appropriate since both partners can approach the subject with similar questions. At the same time, the project serves as good model for various other European countries.
