To make easier access to academic books for pupils of Earth planet. Access will be free-of-charge, smoothing digital division.

1. Project summary
Summary: 

Idea was born as a result of problems with shortage of academic books and books of world classics, which are studying in school. Researches showed that this problemл is character for many countries of the world. My teacher Jeff Brown demands to consider appearing problems from economical view of sight. World economical crisis is a main factor which urged me on creating of this project. Electron School Library was created in September 2008 and from October 2008 it is testing in school number 1. 9 of February this idea received development in North America and was used as teaching aid for children which create and develop their business (http://www.teachingkidsbusiness.com/kids-business-ideas.htm). In April 2009 idea, conception and program were published on site for Russian Federation. In May 2009 a group of young, perspective students-medics from Nigeria was interested in development of this project in Nigerian. Now group of students, which is leaded by sister and brother, Joy and Stephan, and their friend Wilson, is working above acquisition of library for their country.

9. Targets and Elements of Innovation
Please explain the targets and the background of your project: 

To make necessary school academic books free-of-charge and available for young generation of planet, It will allow smoothing of difference between rich and poor countries, economize natural resources of planet, make education more qualitative and solve traditional problem which exists many years. Traditional libraries cannot provide all wanting by necessary literature in days of higher demand, state cannot pay for set of literature which is necessary in school, for each pupil, made it in paper, because significant part is using only one time during year. Economical aspect of project. Modern condition of information system allows having access to any necessary literature by Internet. But if we will count how much one pupil spend on search and downloading of necessary book or manual from Network, then for any country it will be significant amount of money. It has a special role for not rich countries where purse strings of country and many pupils are limited and it restricts their access to education of high level.

What does it try to achieve and how: 

I want that kids, pupils don’t suffer from poverty of their parents or country in which they live. I hope that it will give equal opportunities to pupils of the world and I want that government of countries or separate school don’t spend vain money of that what it is possible to make one time and it will economize huge purse strings for all planet. It is practical and I think it mustn’t give rise to doubt.

Please explain what is unique or special in your project: 

It is unique that each school must have basic electron library which it can redact easily, removing unnecessary or adding necessary subject to its direction and specialization. Pupil can receive any necessary for him information in electronic type for limited time, which is necessary for acquaintance or studying of necessary literature. It allows providing any necessary book in any number of copies in electronic type free-of-charge for pupil and opportunity to use electron version jointly with search what facilitate search significant and using of necessary information. Electron School Library don’t need filling out forms and returning of book in school or any other library. It is easy and practical. Library has limited time of using – two weeks. This work began inaccessible on user’s computer, but it can be (if necessary) taken in school library some more times, It allows economize place on hard dist of user’s computer, not loading it by superfluous information but using only that what it is necessary in this moment..

10. Results
Describe the results of your project as per today: 

Library is functioning and has popularity in my school. Leaders of school work above updating of basic literature in connection with that I study in specialized physical-mathematical school. While Ukrainian’s governments didn’t support me in this question and leaders of school searching for ways of receiving of necessary literature in electron type for using in Electron School Library. Other schools of my town watch the development of this experiment. I made this library accessible and free-of-charge for Russian Federation and now there are difficult negotiations with parliamentary faction ‘Rossija Molodaja’ because it is they who must worry about their peers and young generation which supported them on elections. I made everything what I could for them. Now a group of young and energetic students-medics from Nigeria are interested in development of this project in their native country. I prepare a version of basic program on English and Nigerian students, leaded by sister and brother Joy and Stephan and their friend Wilson prepare set of literature necessary for Nigerian schools. This project is using as practical example of teaching kids business by Jeff Brown from Toronto with which I published this idea and made it accessible for young and energetic people in Network, because this problem exists in majority of countries of the world. I hope that soon this project will be supported and will have development in other countries.

How does it fulfill the users’ needs: 

From all database of library necessary work is chosen. It is copying on media (disk, diskette, flash) of pupil and traveling on his computer. On computer pupil opens the text and make search of necessary fragments.

How many users interact with your project per month and what are the preferred forms of interaction: 

I don’t do exact calculation of users but in my school there are more that 700 of pupils. Even that who have necessary book in home library use Electron library because electronic variant is more comfortable and give advantage in studying. Last time junior pupil’s parents, who chose developmental literature for them, appear. There are a big amount of fairytales of different nations in library. Because many parents take kids from school, it is easier for them than go to central library, take a book and then return it back.

How has it improved the quality of educational and/or training services: 

Now my school’s pupils have easier access to academic literature. And it is a basic result of improved of educational effect. First, all pupils of my school received an access to literature. Second, it allowed more effective study and analysis of book. This, of course, reflected on quality of education.

How has it improved the participation of professionals, children, youth and other stakeholders: 

Pupils received a free and easy access to necessary literature. Teachers put in library rare literature which is necessary for deeper studying of their program. It save pupils from searching of hard-to-reach literature and teachers form photocopying of material for pupils of paralles.

How does it promote the use of ICT for the educational and cultural development by professionals, children and youth: 

This is a program; consequently it is a using of ICT. And a using of new program product. It facilitate live of pupils – instead of losing time on search in Network they study already collected books not spending superfluous time and money.

Describe how you measure (parameters) these results: 

A full result it is possible to measure only after twelve years, when pupil will pass school from first to twelfth form, using this library. A quick result is that students motivate their ignorance by absence of necessary literature in libraries and shops of town. Teacher are satisfied of vitality of carrying out lessons now.

Project is supported in my school, for Russian Federation it is only published, for Nigeria it is in stage of development of database with necessary for this country literature. In North America is it as project of teaching kids business in development stage.

13. Background information
Background: 

I strive for helping make educational literature more accessible for young generation in the world and Russia. I hope that electron school library would be a large contribution to the world and there is a good dream which I have.

Barriers: 

Main barrier is slow thinking of adult and difficulties of perception of new ideas. Big age not always gives and ability to understand wanting and desires of gifted pupils. Other barriers are inessential.

Solutions: 

One of solutions is participation in Global Junior Challenge. It will allow better understanding of idea and faster it’s introducing in different countries of the world. I propagandize Electron school library in Network on site and in North America as a real example of studying kids business. I appealed to youth organization of Russian Federation “Rossija Molodaja” with offer to use this idea for pupils of Russian schools. I appealed to acquainted foreign students from Nigeria, received education in Luhansk medical university. I hope that their efforts in this direction will find support at students of different countries of Africa and Asia.

Future plans and wish list: 

I want that adult in all countries worry about young generation and this program gives them such ability. Because it will lower digital division between countries and will make access to academic books maximally easy for all countries.
