Mujer y Negocios.com - Winner of the Stockholm Challenge Award 2000


Judith Ovadia, graduated in "Scientific Computing" at the Buenos Aires University, has worked in different companies for 15 years, there she developed an outstanding and recognized professional career not only in tech positions but also in Management positions. She also worked as Consultant for the World Bank during 1999 and 2000.

In 1991, she and her current business partner, created "Consultores de Base", a Tech company where she is still the manager partner.

In 1997, knowing the women's entrepreneur problems, they developed the Internet Portal "Mujer y Negocios" - www.mujerynegocios.com (Woman and Businesses).

Mujer y Negocios was a pioneer portal in Ibero-America, working with businesses led by women, which became a very successfully project along the years and was replicated not only in Argentina but also in many other countries.

The main goals of Mujer y Negocios are to share knowledge, to share opportunities, to generate new ways of selling for women's companies, the offer of free tech e-learning and tools, and the development of new projects which may generate wealth, value and new jobs for them and their countries.
It also has a weekly Newsletter (352 editions up to 08/2004) that reaches a community of more than 25,000 Spanish readers all over the world.

Mujer y Negocios has been given many awards, one of them is the "Stockholm Challenge Award" in the New Economy Category.

In April 2002, Judith Ovadia joined the International Jury for the Latin America Contest "Conozca las mejores Prácticas de Género y Servicios Empresariales para la Microempresa" (Best practices in gender services for micro companies). This Contest gathered projects from 10 different Latin American countries and was held in Arequipa, Peru.

In October 2002, she received the AIME - 2002 Award, as the "Business Woman of the year", given by the Ibero American Association of Businesswomen
